I should probably make a music category since it seems to be a good part of my spare time lately. Anyway in my travels I have been marking songs on the myfi so I would remember to talk about them. The list is getting long so I figured now would be a good time since I don't have much else to talk about right now.

There is no real order to this list other than that is how I had the browser windows open. I don't like to link to lyric sites because they are notorious for poopups and spyware, but that is your problem not mine. Just don't accept any boxes that might pop up from these sites or use Firefox. I have to say the last link doesn't quite fit in with the rest of the list but it makes me smile. There is a flash video to go along with it and I put a copy in the archive on here. I need to listen to more of Psychostick but so far they amuse me.

I will try to write a little more on this topic after I get home. I wanted to at least get part of the list done while it was on my mind.

Like everything in my life looks like plans for this weekend are once again getting changed. I still plan on seeing this flick down in Nashville on Saturday. Some of the people I had originally thought were going to see it will most likely not be attending due to a change in the social schedule. Screw the social list and the people that post to it late notice. Anyhow 1:00 I 3:15 I 5:30 I 7:45 I 10:00 are the times it is showing I am aiming for the 5:30. Finally got back over to a client's office that had a bad drive in their Redhat 7.3 server. Swapped out the faulty drive with a brand new one and hoped for the best. cat /proc/mdstat told me the raid wasn't rebuilding itself, damn. Okay so today I learned that with software raid under linux you must first replace the dead drive then partition it to match the other drive exactly. Then you can do a raidhotadd /dev/md# /dev/hdc# and it will cause the partitions to resync. A quick check with cat /proc/mdstat showed the mirrors to be rebuilding and I was out the door again. That is my tech tip for the day on software raid.

If you haven't come across this before, it's really quite surprising.

Stare at the crosshairs in the centre of this picture. After a short while you'll notice that there is a green dot revolving around, replacing each purple dot in turn. Then if you keep staring the purple dots disappear, and all that remains is a circling green dot.

But it's all an illusion - there's no green dot and the purple dots never actually disappear. So what the devil is going on?

I really should start asking questions more. I knew my water / sanitation bill seemed higher than it should be but I assumed it was because I had two trash cans. Well come to find out it was high by $36 a month! Take that over the course of a year and I have given the city an extra $432 for an extra garbage can that I don't use. Oh well I asked about it today and they said they were looking into the glitch. I guess I will call them back later to enquire about said accounting glitch and see about a credit on my account.

Weekend over, and what a weekend it was. Alot to cover here so lets get moving.

First off Dawn is out of here! Huzzah and hurray is in order because alot of my stress is removed with her. Starting this week no more random people just walking in and out of my house at all hours of the night. I am really hoping that is going to be the trick to getting a full nights sleep again. I took this pic here when I saw the moving truck which made me so happy.

Moving on... Roomba! So far the roomba is pretty cool. It is actually a vacuum that ziggy isn't afraid of! First off it doesn't sound like a normal vacuum at all. I would describe the sound as more like a train set or a remote control car. I have run it around the house three times now and each time it had mixed results. Once it got lost under Dawn's couch and another time under my bed. I can't really tell how it knows that is has covered the entire room but it seems to come close. I need to give the virtual walls a try and see if it does a better job. In the end it has sucked up the equivilant of two cats and what could be the start of a pretty big sweater.

Friday night I played a little WoW and got into an Alterac Valley game. This one almost made up for the previous one where I got to spend a whopping 30 seconds in there. Eight and a half hours later we finally finished this match. For the week I have racked up 2200+ honor kills and I am really curious to see if I will go up a PVP rank or more than one.

That leads us up to Saturday and Rachel's birthday party. Since that dang WoW match lasted til 6:30 Saturday morning I woke up late. Jumped back on WoW to send some money to Vorshi for a chest piece then got to cooking and stuff. Left out of here about 3 and drove into nashvegas. I was about 30 min outside Nashville when I realized I brought a change of clothes, a towel, her present and the food but completely left my swim trunks sitting on the bed! DOH! A quick stop at target remedied the situation and back on my way to their place. The party did was the usual good food, friends and alot of talking.

Okay so last night I was pissed because I spent less than 30 seconds in Alterac Valley after waiting to get in for 4+ hours. So here is the response that I got from blizzard.

Answer: Our development team is currently investigating ways to improve queue time. In the meantime, grouping with other players may also reduce your queue time wait. I thought I was really clear that while the really long wait annoyed me. The fact that I was only in alterac valley for 30 seconds, because their queuing system screwed up and put me into a match that was about to end, is what pissed me off!

While I am in an annoyed mood I might as well add this tidbit. DAMNIT! I waited four long hours to get into Alterac Valley tonight when finally I got the prompt on my screen it was my turn! Hurray! I zone in, not even to the end of the entrance tunnel and the score pops up. General just died I got 0 honor kills for the 4 hours of waiting a tiny little bit of rep and then was ejected from the damned zone!! Well wait it was my turn after all so I try to jump back in the zone. Nope... back in queue again estimated time til entry 3 hours 45 minutes. It's past 10 I am going to bed. Occasionally resisting a buff from felwood, okay I will get by. Occasionally resisting a firewater, not amusing but okay I will ignore it. Waiting this long to get into AV just to be ejected will not fly. Blizzard fix your shit!!

Someone thought it would be amusing to see what I would say to a bot. I am not amused just annoyed. Stupid bots.

With that said school is back in full swing and I once again despise most teachers. I spent the day hooking up computers and finding pieces of them lost over the summer. The first day of school everything is an emergency and that really annoys me. Oh well life goes on at least I won't be setting foot inside a school tomorrow.

Stopped on the way home tonight and grabbed a couple of Missouri watermelons to take to Podkayne's birthday on Saturday.

Anyway I have had this entry sitting up here for the last 2 hours while I did some work on a customer's server. So here it is the big catch phrase for the day "Fuck it". That's right you heard it here first, I really don't care about your problems. Especially those of you that like to call my cell phone and leave 4 - 5 messages on there over the course of an hour. Ugh.

In the gaming world this weekend I went on another 5 man group, this time through Scholomance. We ran just about all of it but at least finished out the parts necessary for me to collect this dandy of a sword. While we were on this run we were clearing out the rooms to spawn Darkmaster Gandling we discovered a new way to get owned. hehe. Kemoto managed to get owned by lamp. He got stuck behind that thing and there was no way out other than death. We all got back and pulled a single skeleton over to him to kill him then let Vorshi res him. Here is a video so you can see what I am talking about.

I caught the early show at Cheri today for this movie. I have to say it was pretty good. It was about a girl who took a job as a live in nurse to an elderly man and his wife in Louisianna. Without giving too much away about the movie it centered around the belief in Hoodoo. I probably should have figured out the ending sooner but I didn't catch on until the last 10 - 15 minutes. I would go see this again most likely.

I haven't posted on this yet because I wasn't sure how it was all going to play out. Since it all seems to be working out now I will go ahead and let the cat out of the bag. Last week my buddy Mike sent me a message asking if I wanted a roomba for $50. Well for $50 why the heck wouldn't I?!

He came across a post on a roomba users forum that told there was a glitch in the ordering system that would let you get the $150 roomba red for $50! So I followed the instructions and entered the code for the %15 off accessories and yup the price dropped $100 for the vacuum. He and I both ordered one and got receipts via email, everything seemed legit. Mike is very impatient so he checked his order status the next day and found that his was canceled. So he checked mine and it had been canceled as well. We kinda figured this would happen once they found the glitch. Kinda stunk that they never sent out an email saying it was canceled though.

So here it is a few days later, no roomba on my doorstep but I do have another email from the iRobot folks. Seems they have had a change of heart about the issue and are going to honor it afterall! Again, sweet! So I go to call the number and it's been disconnected or just a typo. A quick trip to the iRobotstore site and I see the number in the email is off by one digit, it should be 1-888-Roomba9. A short phone call later and my order has been replaced and is once again on it's way to come keep my house clean with ease. So here I sit confirmation email in hand that says it is coming to help me out. I would like to say thank you to the iRobot people for honoring this deal and I will be happily spreading kind words about them for it.

A very happy pig tonight. Vorshi, Steen, Kemoto, Elrod and myself ran a complete 5 man on the baron. We did a good job too only one wipe that I caused by not pulling a gargoyle further back. But since we finished it I got to collect my Seal of the Dawn and my Argent Avenger. I also got another trinket to add to my collection of fun stuff Ramstein's Lightning Bolts. Oh what a night. I'm tired and should get in bed.

Since gallery 2 has entered the release candidate stage I figured now would be a good time to upgrade. The speed of gallery 1 is there now and the features are pretty nice. There is one side effect that I didn't really anticipate but will have to spend some time fixing. All the picture links I had in this are now fubar and will all have to be recoded... that stinks. I will try my best to fix all the entries over the next 24 - 48 hours to get them back to looking the way I intended.

As I check my email tonight I see one from my long lost brother Shawn. I thought the fool fell off the planet but to my surprise he is finally about to finish college. Gonna try to catch back up with him soon but for now I had to post this quick blurb saying he found me again. A road trip to Oxford, MS may be in order soon!

Looks like I also need to give him a little hell over losing a little up top there. hehe

Well the yanking didn't go so well. Got to my dentist's office about 2:45 this afternoon and they got me back pretty quick. Couple of shots and I was feeling little pain. A few more shots and I was feeling nothing on the left side of my face. The right while not quite feeling everything it wasn't completely numb either so he gave me a few more shots in that side and went to work on the left. After a few minutes my tooth was out and I was feeling no pain. Put some gauze in there to help with the bleeding and onto the right. He poked around a bit and I felt pretty numb so he went to work on pulling it out. OUCH! I wasn't numb after all there was something in there that was not taking to the pain meds! A few more shots and a couple of jabs later all seemed well. I was still not numb! I don't know what is up with the right side of my head but it was not going with the program. So one tooth out and out of options for the numbing he decided to just leave the tooth and try again later with different meds. So here I sit sipping water, thinking I should pop a pain pill and crawl into bed. I just can't make myself do it because I have this thought rolling through my head. I was told tonight to "ya kind of need to get over that", well it's just not working.

With that said I am gonna get back to reading on rate limiting and see if I can learn a little bit tonight.

I made a call this morning to the dentist. They are going to fit me in tomorrow afternoon. At 3pm tomorrow they are going to pull my last two wisdom teeth. That means I will be missing out on the 615 2600 meeting, again, I expect I will be passed out most of the weekend. Not really anything exciting to report other than I will be on my butt with some good drugs in my system.

Not much really happened today just the usual to work and back. Listen to the radio and some band had taken control of squizz for an hour so I got to hear some old van halen, pantera, etc. That was a nice change. Got back from the chemical plant a little early and was confronted about the "porn filter" at the office again. So I spent a few hours tonight making a few little scripts to turn it off and on from a webpage page. It's pretty slick.

Saw the news on the world of warcraft site about some upcoming changes in the next patch. They are changing the hunter talents like they did the warrior ones in the last patch. They are also introducing a fishing tournament in stranglethorn vale. They have hinted that we might see the return of the fishing hat and possibly other +fishing items. Maybe even possibly make fishing worth doing again for something other than food.

I decided tonight the blog is gonna stick around. I've kept at it for a few months now and it isn't that bad having my thoughts out there for all to see. I am not going to actively tell people this is up just yet but I have put a link to it on my personal page. Plus I put too much time into getting this site looking and working like I wanted, heh. I think I will add one more thing to the site and call it complete and that will be a set of links to friend's blogs.
