Delusions of grandure

Many people who know me, know about Ed. Ed was a former roommate and friend of mine that I met in high school. Ed was for the most part an okay guy, a little scatterbrained with no real direction in life but otherwise fine. Of all the problems that Ed had he never really knew how to manage his money at all which leads to the problems that he and I ended up having. To the best of my recolection it was 2000 when Ed's car broke down and he needed a new one. He got this 1994 miata or something like that, I know it was a miata not really sure of the year still not really important. Anyhow, the miata payments turned out to be $300 a month and his rent was already $200 plus bills that ran around $200. We had alot of computers running our electric bill was pretty high. Anyway Ed started to fall behind on his part of the bills, since they were all in my name I had to keep paying them, debt starts to grow. I guess I should stop for a moment to point out that Ed did make enough cash to pay his bills, he just liked to take this string of strange girlfriends out to eat everynight depleating his funds. Meanwhile back in my broken string of thoughts, time went on his debt to me rose to $1100 and my nerves were shot. Ed had to go. Okay so the lease was about up, I went to the landlord and resigned the lease without him and assumed the entire thing on my own. Ed now had about a month to move out. I don't think he moved back with his parents but he might have for a little while at that point before he got another apt with a mutual friend of ours, derek. Somewhere in there he lived with Jamie for a while and his cousin for a while too. Once again, not important. Important stuff is, he left owing me $1100 of which I got a check for $300 this dropped him down to $800.

So Ed owes me $800 and he still works with me at ICS. Since i work with him he will have to eventually pay me back. Ed got fired. He blames me for this, and in all honesty I would have eventually got him fired, but he did get himself fired for goofing off at work, etc. So now Ed is jobless, I heard he got some work in Paducah and stuff not really sure. I didn't really keep up with him. So one day I get this call from some repo company looking for a car of theirs, the miata. Turns out Ed hadn't been making the payments and well they wanted their car back to auction it off for part of the debt he owed them. I was feeling a might bit spiteful so I told them that I would tell them where the car was IF they took me along to go get it. Here is where I fucked up. The guy said okay then I gave him the address where he could find the car. I never heard from them again. What I didn't tell the tow truck driver was that Ed had done something to the car to make it undrivable, burned up transmission or clutch or something. He thought he was some kind of stunt racecar driver. Eventually Ed moved to Arizona and I hear bits and pieces about him from here and there. I even still run into his mom once in a blue moon. I really feel sorry for her and his dad because the car really went back on their credit since they cosigned for him.

At the end of this story I found out Ed had a myspace account. I dropped in on it the other day to see this thread about how he has real friends in Arizona now and his old ones weren't really friends at all. I left him a comment about this fact and how I still want my money, but he deleted it off his myspace. I guess he is afraid of the truth. Drop in on ole Paul "Ed" Taylor and let him know you read my little tale.

75,000 miles and counting

While looking over the paperwork in my truck I found the warranty / rotation log for my tires. Two years and four days ago I bought a brand new set of tires for the ranger. To you this is nothing big, so what everyone has to buy them at some point, to me this marks 224293 miles on the ranger and 75,000 miles over the last two years since I bought them. I figure this will be the last year of major milage for me, with my nearly weekly trips to nashville cut out and nothing on my social calendar I see myself being a quiet homebody again. A trip to chicago might be in my future, perhaps, around spring break if airfare is cheap enough and I can talk my travel buddy into going. Anyhow 75,000 miles in 2 years, ugh.

Attn old man in the brown buick

Okay, old dude when you got passed by the first semi on the winding two lane road that should have been your first clue something is wrong. When the second passed as well as a seemingly endless stream of cars that should have alerted you to the fact you are driving 20 mph under the speed limit. Speed up!

Here is the video of the last minute of our ragnaros fight. Take a little look and put yourself in moment of excitement.

I went and saw memoirs of a geisha and it was pretty good. Definitely would have been better had I had a chick go with me though. Sitting as a single guy in there I stuck out like a sore thumb.

In the world of WoW my warrior is getting all kinds of neat purple items and my rogue is slowly leveling up. I have added this new site so I can keep track of my alt characters and their fat loots. You can see the roster here. I have to say I am very glad that Grinders Inc imploded as it did and I made the switch to Nocturn with Vorshi and Kemoto. I have already gotten more nifty purple items in the last month or two with them than I did in the 5 or 6 months I was with grinders. The three of us also did a full BRD run as just a three man group which was pretty cool. I have a screen shot of that after we killed the emperor that I will try to post later.

I'm currently sitting here playing a little WoW with Vorshi and Kemoto while trying to get my back to stop hurting. I managed to pull a muscle in the middle of my back yet once again and have been in a good deal of pain for the last two days.

I know there is more I am forgetting here I really need to get my shit straight again and start writing things down. Oh yeah my old man turned 50 today, I called him first thing this morning and asked how his AARP application was, etc. So happy birthday old man, even though you won't see this.

Rag down!

I'm really tired and about to crawl in bed just wanted to throw a quick post up here that tonight Nocturn downed Ragnaros. Actually we did a full clear of Molten Core including Ragnaros and then we went on to take out Onyxia. I am happy to report I have positive dkp for about the first time since I started raiding with Nocturn. There is a thread on the Mal'Ganis forum announcing our victory here. Someone took a video of the event going down and I hope to see it soon. As quickly as I can get a link I will post it here so you to can see just what kind of excitement we had going tonight. What a great night.

Images from my past

Not sure how this happened exactly, but while reading the daily comics on Sunday I ran across this.

While I know it isn't based on a real person the likeness is a little disconcerting. Take it for what you will, it was like an echo from the past when I saw and it rattled my cage. Original site here.

Brilliant!

Here I sit having lunch at a local chinese place when what do I see but the most brilliant idea of my life. Normally I despise the idea of taking really young children to restaurants but this one just floored me. I am not sure if the restaurant did it or the parents, if it was the parents I applaud you but I doubt it was them. Just what am I talking about, a simple 2.5' x 2.5' piece of white plastic under the messy high chair! All parents should carry such things to help their waitress with asy clean up. In this case i'm pretty sure the restaurant did it because they have new carpet down. No matter who did it the idea is great, now just to find out if this is commercially available then to send some to all those people I know with messy rugrats, or soon to be messy rugrats.

Goodbye 2005 and good riddence

Glad to say 2005 is gone and I cannot stress how I wish this could have happened sooner. 2005 was easily the worst year of my life for many reasons. I told a few people the only way that 2006 could be worse was if my house exploded at 00:01 January 1, 2006, not 00:02 only 00:01. Since I am posting obviously my house didn't explode.

That should really sum up my year in a nutshell. It was rough but I think I am over all of it now, 2006 will be 1000 fold better. I am not going to have any more regrets over the events of the last year, it is time to just let them pass. Friendships have been lost a few more have been made.
